Rafael Ortega, the founder of Mudra Handpan, began his musical career at the age of 10 as a drummer and later played various instruments such as guitar, piano and didgeridoo. After five years in music production, he decided to take a break and go traveling. Rafael discovered the handpan during his two-year journey away from Brazil. The instrument fascinated him and rekindled his passion for music. This experience led him to study the making of handpans and develop a deep connection to this unique instrument.
